GRANT REQUIREMENTS
Organization Eligibility:
Requesting organizations must be a 501(c)(3) entity performing public services in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island that focus on supporting underserved children and families .
Grants are not made to:
- Organizations without a 501(c)(3) status
- Religious organizations/causes
- Fraternal, political or membership/social organizations (such as organizations labeled 501(C)(4) or 501(C)(8))
- Capitol campaigns
- Elementary, secondary or charter schools including booster clubs, PTOs, PTAs, marching bands, etc.
- Municipalities, local governments, or chambers of commerce
- To off-set the cost of a fundraising event (such as a sponsorship); donation requests should be linked directly to a cause/program
Grants must be used for the purpose indicated on the initial application unless permission is requested to, and granted by, the Board of Directors for other use.
The Foundation reserves the right to decline a request .
Because funds are limited, the amount approved may be less than the amount requested.
The Foundation reserves the right to request additional information either when evaluating a grant request or at any time after the grant is awarded.
If a grant is, at any time, found to have been generated by an ineligible person or organization, the Foundation will expect return of the grant.
A grant from the Barnum Foundation for Life does not constitute an endorsement from the Foundation or Barnum Financial Group.
Press releases shall be reviewed by the Foundation/Barnum Financial Group prior to being posted for the general public.
