Bikes for Kids Program

Founded by Bill and Debbie Pollakov, the Bikes for Kids Program provides underserved children with an uplifting and empowering experience. The children and their families are invited to a free fun event where they are surprised with a new bike and helmet. Not only do they have a great day but they benefit from the exercise bike riding offers as well as the pride and responsibility of owning a bike.

A contribution of $70.00 will completely sponsor a child's day. This includes a fun activity, brand new bicycle, and a helmet. (Contributions of any amount are helpful, see below for more info)

Since Paul Blanco brought the Bikes for Kids program to the Barnum Foundation for Life, we have given away close to 3,000 bikes and helmets to underprivledged children. This year’s goal is to give 500 kids the freedom to explore and stay active and healthy with a new bike.

This initiative is supported by the generous contributions from people and organizations in the community.

Past Bikes for Kids events have taken place at the New York Giants fieldhouse, New York Jets games, as well as family entertainment centers and sports activity centers.

There are a number of ways you can help put a smile on the face of a deserving young boy or girl:

  • Sponsor a child’s day including the bike, helmet, and event costs for $70.00 per child
  • Purchase a bike for a child for $59.00
  • Assist in covering transport fees or venue costs $6.00
  • Purchase a helmet for $5.00
